Lynda Ross, MA, LPC-S, NCC

Clinical Director, Clinician, In-Person/Virtual

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and honored owner of Set Apart Counseling, I am passionate about creating a safe and inspiring space for those desiring healthier and deeply satisfying lives through individual counseling. Extensive work with college-aged, single mothers, and middle-aged in navigating issues that negatively affect emotional well-being and quality of life has brought great joy as clients overcome obstacles and determine “next steps.”

Relationships and attachment, along with Christian-centered work (if so desired, never pushed) have defined the last 11 years of clients, with special interest and exploration into neuroplasticity and the mind-body connection. I believe strongholds of any kind can determine the trajectory of our lives, unless confronted and battled. If you’re ready for change, I’m all about forging new paths and walking boldly with you to gain a deeper understanding of how you’re wired and the skills necessary to move upward and onward! A grace-filled spirit with gentle nudging is my forte.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.” –Martin Luther King Jr.

Life can make us feel like we are stuck and have no place to go. If you take that first step, then together we will figure it out from there. My passion is to support individuals as they are faced with unexpected obstacles and experience the excitement of growth and change. Specialties include working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are struggling with Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression. I want to provide a safe space for you to be able to process events, thoughts, and feelings. I truly believe individuals can make positive changes to help enhance their lives when given proper support.

I believe counseling offers one of the most effective environments for personal and relational growth. It’s a space where individuals can explore themselves, enhance communication skills, boost self-esteem, and experience meaningful improvements in their mental health. With a deep passion for helping others, I specialize in guiding clients through issues such as addiction, relationship and attachment concerns, depression, grief, panic attacks, anxiety, PTSD, loneliness, anger, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and spiritual challenges.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, blending techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to create a customized treatment plan that meets the unique needs of each individual. Additionally, with a Bachelor's Degree in Theology, I offer the option to incorporate a biblical perspective into counseling, providing spiritual guidance for those who wish to explore this aspect in their healing journey.

I am dedicated to creating a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment where clients can experience self-discovery and growth.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with family and friends over coffee, taking road trips, having movie nights, playing video games, card games, and any kind of board games.

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing." – Henry Ford

Life is filled with decisions, challenges, excitement, pain, and loss… but you don’t have to face it alone. Growth comes from learning, and healing begins with support. With over 10 years of experience counseling college students with disabilities, families in the adoption process, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression, I am committed to helping individuals find their purpose, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful change.

Through a holistic, client-centered approach, I focus on empowerment, resilience, and self-awareness, guiding individuals toward emotional well-being and balance. Whether you’re experiencing life transitions, personal struggles, or seeking deeper self-discovery, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore, heal, and thrive. My goal is to equip you with the tools and confidence to move forward with clarity and strength.

You don’t have to walk this path alone—let’s navigate it together.

Brian Perry, MA, MEd, LLC

Mental Health Clinician, Virtual

I enjoy providing counseling services to adolescents, teenagers, adults, and couples. My passion for helping people reach their full potential, facing challenges within depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, life adjustment, and other emotional distress. Integrating a wide range of therapeutic approaches, along with a safe and non-judgmental environment allows clients to be open and collaborate on their goals.

Also holding a Master of Arts in Education from MSU, teaching 16 years at Notre Dame Preparatory and Regina High School has especially helped me develop a unique expertise in working with adolescents.

My approach with clients is empathetic and person-centered, focusing on individuals’ strengths to guide their goals. I enjoy navigating a deeper understanding of client's formative years, assessing impact and underlying factors within emotional distress and behavioral choices. This process often reveals negative thinking patterns and I firmly believe everyone can make changes to improve their quality of life and fulfill their goals.

In addition to teaching experience, I am a certified firefighter and available to provide understanding and counseling services to first responders and their families!
